2026 Wedding Decor Trends: Fresh Takes from Industry Insiders
Hey there, wedding enthusiasts!
If you’re planning a wedding and love getting a feel for where things are headed, 2026 is shaping up to be a really fun year for wedding style & design.
At La Fête, we see trends come to life firsthand in our downtown Provo venue — not just on Pinterest boards, but in real weddings with real budgets and personalities. These insights come straight from the Wedding MBA Conference (held each fall), paired with what couples and designers are actually choosing right now each weekend as we host les Fêtes.
Whether you’re keeping things simple or leaning all the way into the details, here’s what’s defining weddings in 2026.
Color Is Back — and It’s Personal
Muted neutrals have had a long run, and while they’re not disappearing entirely, color is making a confident comebackin 2026.
From Wedding MBA’s Trend Experience, the standout palettes feel warm, grounded, and intentional. Think deep tones like chartreuse, burgundy, French blue, and sage green, layered with softer neutrals or airy accents. We’re also seeing pops of fresh color — pale pink, soft lime, and even yellow — used sparingly to keep things modern.
Ombre moments are showing up on ceremony arches, backdrops, and tablescapes, where colors gently blend instead of staying flat. Jewel tones like emerald, sapphire, and rose are returning in a way that feels elevated rather than dramatic, while Pantone’s Cloud Dancer color offers a clean, light neutral that pairs beautifully with bolder shades.
Design tip: Start with earthy or deep base colors, then add one or two brighter accents through paper goods, glassware, or florals to keep the look balanced and personal.
Florals: Structured, Seasonal, and Thoughtful
Florals in 2026 are less about overflowing abundance and more about intentional placement and shape.
Designers at Wedding MBA highlighted immersive floral moments with fewer varieties — roses, lisianthus, and hydrangeas — styled in tighter palettes for a refined look. There’s a strong move toward sculptural arrangements that feel architectural rather than wild.
We’re seeing:
Long-stem arrangements
Victorian-inspired bouquets
Sunken-meadow centerpieces
Statement blooms like proteas and anthuriums
Seasonality plays a bigger role than ever, with soft pinks and greens for spring, richer tones for fall, and textured whites and dried elements for winter.
One major shift: florals are moving off the center of the table. Instead of crowding place settings, arrangements are placed at table ends, running down long tables, on the floor, or suspended overhead — keeping tables open and conversation flowing.
Texture Is the Star of the Show
If there’s one word that defines 2026 design, it’s texture.
Couples are layering materials to create warmth and depth instead of relying on more decor. We’re seeing bamboo, toile, woven fibers, and — especially — velvet. Velvet adds softness and subtle drama to linens, lounge furniture, and accent seating.
Textures are also intentionally mixed: soft petals paired with spiky greens, smooth linens against rugged wood, and delicate paper details layered with heavier tableware.
This approach makes even neutral or monochrome designs feel rich and dimensional.
Pattern Mixing (Done Thoughtfully)
Patterns are no longer “all or nothing.” Instead, 2026 is about mixing patterns - with restraint.
Stripes, toile, and subtle prints are being layered together — striped linens with floral arrangements, toile paired with solid napkins, or wallpaper-inspired patterns used as statement backdrops. Linens are often bunched or draped instead of pressed flat, adding movement and a relaxed elegance.
The key is coordination, not matching. When done well, pattern mixing adds personality without feeling busy.
Tablescapes Are Going Maximal (But Curated)
Tables in 2026 are fuller, richer, and more expressive — a clear move toward maximalist tablescapes.
We’re seeing:
Layered linens (often velvet or patterned)
Chunky, sculptural flatware in matte or brushed finishes
Yellow and colored crystal goblets, vases, and candleholders
Candles at varied heights
Intentional “collected” details that feel styled, not cluttered
Mini lamps continue to be a favorite, especially paired with pleated or fringe shades, creating a warm, intimate glow once the sun goes down.
Lighting as Decor
Lighting is no longer just functional — it’s part of the design story.
Pendant lights, sequins, reflective materials, twinkle lights, and textured shades are being used to bounce light and add atmosphere.
Whether it’s soft lamps on tables or statement lighting overhead, the goal is to make the space feel layered and inviting.
Paper Goods as a Design Moment
Paper is having a serious moment in 2026.
Couples are using paper as a pop of color through menus, place cards, signage, and table labels. Creative techniques like block printing and layered paper add texture and interest, while die-cut invitations and table labels bring in custom shapes that feel tactile and elevated.
Paper goods are no longer an afterthought — they’re part of the overall decor plan.
Relaxed, Intentional Timelines
Design trends are also shaping how weddings flow.
Traditional, rigid timelines are giving way to intentional, guest-focused experiences. We’re seeing more intimate events, supper-club–style dining, lounge interactions rather than formal plated meals, and evenings built around shared moments rather than strict traditions.
Florals framing key moments, behind-the-scenes photo captures, projected videos, and interactive entertainment are all ways couples are making the day feel personal and authentic.
Bringing It All Together at La Fête
At La Fête, we love helping couples take these trends and make them feel real — not overwhelming.
Whether that means bold florals, velvet textures indoors, layered tablescapes, or lighting that transforms the room after sunset, our goal is always the same: a celebration that feels like you.
If you’re planning a 2026 wedding, we’d love to talk through your vision and help bring it to life in a way that feels intentional, beautiful, and fun. ✨
